Site of the Future University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston
95. [MAP]. [GALVESTON WATERFRONT]. Untitled manuscript map on heavy paper mounted on original linen backing, in black ink and red ink with pale color wash showing a small area of the Galveston waterfront along Avenue A, between Fourth and Fourteenth Streets, with various triangulations and pencil notes added. N.p., n.d. [early twentieth century?]. Neat line to neat line: 47.5 x 36.5 cm. Four old blueprint paper identification manuscript labels attached to each corner. Moderately foxed, otherwise fine, professionally executed. Since the map shows the original location of Sealy Hospital, which was founded in 1890, it must date after that. The street area shown is now occupied almost entirely by the University of Texas Medical Branch Hospital. ($250-500) |
